Ideas of Chinese writing

I found this book about the Chinese opera show in Hong Kong from my mum's room. I will be going to use this Chinese writing of the names of the Chinese Opera story title behind the print shapes together to look unique.

Inspirations

In the last Summer, I've recently looked at Style.com and London Fashion Week websites, but I didn't find any inspirations from the designers collections Spring/Summer 2012; the reason of my ideas was not that further. This time, I found some latest designers collections Spring/Summer 2012 - Peter Pilotto, and Alba Prat. Why I liked their new collections? 

Peter Pilotto - Spring/Summer 2012

Some of Peter Pilotto's new collection has large scale of white colour prints on the font with variative colours as the background and also the big A-line skirt shapes that were really inspire me lots of ideas and thoughts.

Alba Prat - Spring/Summer 2012

Why Alba Prat? One of the garment has three-dimensions of half-circle shapes all over the top; this is really relate to my ideas, using origami shapes such as fan to apply on my garment designs ideas. I will continue to find some more designers collection for my inspirations.

New project to begin!

Start to begin the new brief project. During the summer I've already thought about the theme for my final major project. My concept is from the Chinese elements especially the Chinese Opera to look at embroidery shapes on Chinese costumes, shapes on headdresses, colours, and Chinese masks, to create the geometric shapes with Chinese writing behind the shapes. At this stage, I've started to create the print shapes from the elements of Chinese opera. After Val and Will's comments about my concepts, they really like my ideas and reseach but I have to find some more Chinese elements into my research and change traditional Chinese writing to digital Chinese writing to make it specific and unique to other people.

Dissertation - 01

During the Summer, I've already had a topic to write an dissertation before my final year. My dissertation will be basically about the Chinese embroidery or may be Chinese wedding dress relate to traditonal embroidery. In the tutorial with Gill, we all talked about what our dissertation is. I didn't talk very clearly what my dissertation was about because I was very nervous that the other students looked at me listen to my talk that I felt uncomfortable. Now I'm not really sure my communication and speaking skills will affect my future.
