Setareh Mohtarez

My inspiration of voluminous skirt shape was inspired by a New York fashion designer, Setareh Mohtarez. I recognized this designer is because I watched a Chinese female singer Joey Yung's London concert 2011 at Royal Albert Hall from last year. She wore a blue shimmering galaxy inspired dress that was really attracted me. Joey Yung revealed that she found this designer while surfing the internet and fell in love with Setareh's designs 'Brightness Dawn' collection 2009; this has related to my final collection.

I picked some shapes from Chinese masks for print ideas; But he uses Chinese masks concept for tailoring.

Logo Design

This is my logo I designed; I used capital letters of 'G' and 'F' stands for Grace Fong with full name under 'GF'. It is simple but I drew 'GF' logo in the photoshop. I'm not sure to weave this logo into label, but I'm definitely put it in my portfolio.

It was the big change! I rewrite the dissertation about the The tradition and contemporary Qun Kua (Chinese Wedding Dress) rather write about the Chinese Silk Embroidery. I know much about the Chinese wedding dress and have found lots of research about the background from books, internet, and also some Chinese drama series. So I will work hard on dissertation to let people know more about Qun Kua (Chinese wedding dress).

Ideas of Chinese writing

I found this book about the Chinese opera show in Hong Kong from my mum's room. I will be going to use this Chinese writing of the names of the Chinese Opera story title behind the print shapes together to look unique.
